5 Basic Fashion Tips on How to Dress up for any Party

The most exciting events of the year always come so fast that you get confused what to wear and what not. All of you know and perhaps experienced about this last minute dressing decisions which end ups in arriving at the party late. So, over the years, I’ve managed to get the perfect look with the help of some vital tips. It is not very difficult or confusing to doll up if you know the right style combinations. I’ve listed some guidelines below for girls, that are simple to understand and beneficial. So, below are few tips on how to dress up in your finest attire and not just wearing a boring top and jeans.

1. Keep the Occasion in Mind

Before selecting your dress, always check what type of event it is. Dressing up for your friend’s party is going to be different than going to an office celebration. Choose your outfit in accordance with the dress code.

2. Balance the Sparkle Factor (SF)

Don’t go overboard with the amount of sparkle. If you are planning to wear a sequined outfit, then make sure the jewelry/accessories are minimal. Similarly, women who are opting for a plain dress can add some glitter to their ensemble in the form of earrings, sequined clutches, necklace etc.

3. Enhance your LBD in Innovative Ways

Every girl has a little black dress in her closet and knows it makes her look the best. Teaming your LBD with diamond studs, delicate bracelet and patent pumps is a fabulous combination which never goes wrong. Some other ideas to glam up include:

  • I wore my LBD last year to a friend’s bash and carried an animal-print clutch. I wanted to try something novel and it worked wonders! I even overheard a guy calling me Seductive Tigress ;)
  • Teaming red shoes with your LBD is common. Wear high-heeled yellow pumps and it’ll immediately garner attention.

4. It’s always Better to be Overdressed

Women might argue on this one but the fact is that it’s safer to be overdressed. The reason is simple. If arrive at a bash and realize you are underdressed, you can’t do anything to jazz up your attire, however if you are overdressed you can always dress down by removing some accessories or leaving your hair loose.

5. Take Note of other Details

In 2008, we had to travel a couple of miles for a party. On reaching the venue, I realized that I had forgotten to carry my mini make-up kit as I changed my clutch at the last moment. There was nothing I could do and my pictures came out terrible despite wearing a stunning dress.

Lesson

Your outfit is important indeed but other things such as handbag, shoes, make-up, accessories, etc. are also crucial in completing your ensemble. Check that you have everything sorted 2 or 3 days before the party so that there are no fashion mishaps.

To conclude

The most important suggestion is to wear clothes you feel comfortable in so that you enjoy every moment of the party to the fullest.

Follow these tips and this time hopefully you won’t be running around to get your party outfit just right!
